Isle SUP & Surf Paddle Board Overview
The Isle Surf company was formed in 2004 by Doug Pate and Mark Miller, two surfers who’d just finished college and opted to chase a dream instead of the corporate world. They began making and selling surfboards in a parent’s storage unit and have now grown the company into one of the world’s largest online retailers of surf and paddle boards.
Isle Surf Company believes firmly that surfing and paddle boarding are the two best types of recreation a human can partake in. They focus solely on surfing and paddling. Isle SUP strives for 100% customer satisfaction. They seek to accomplish this by listening to the customer, resolving issues quickly and offering compelling products via an online or in-store shopping experience.
The folks at Isle Surf company surf and paddle on their products every day. That’s how much they believe in them. For their employees, Isle SUP seeks to create an active life balanced between work and play. From a conservation standpoint, the company’s mission is to stay involved in programs designed to promote a healthier, cleaner ocean and earth.
Isle SUP Paddle boards are available in two different construction styles:
- Solid paddle boards and inflatable SUPs.
Isle Surf and SUP manufactures both types of paddle boards.
Isle SUPs Inflatable Boards
Isle has done a fantastic job of taking inflatable SUPs to the next level by creating different designs and styles for every type of paddler. Whether you are a recreational paddler, fishing, yoga SUP or surfing – they have some great all around boards that are extremely versatile like the Pioneer iSUP and can do it all. Or specifically tailored boards.
The benefits of their inflatable boards are a quick inflate time of only 5 minutes, easier to transport and easier to store. The full Isle inflatable board stores down in a backpack.
In addition, their military grade PVC design utilizes a multi-layered design that results in the same level of stiffness and rigidity as their epoxy paddle boards.

One of their most popular solid paddle boards is the Versa. As the name suggests, this versatile Isle paddle board can do it all for a rider at any skill level. It’s great for paddling on calm waters, surfing, yoga or fishing.
The Versa is offered in two lengths: 10’5” with a maximum weight capacity of 245 pounds and 11’2” with a weight capacity of 300 pounds. It comes in three color schemes: aqua, gray and retro. A four point bungee system is on the nose, allowing you to stow belongings and a patented pop-out carry handle makes carrying a breeze. The soft-brushed EVA traction pad ensures a solid grip under your feet or knees depending on your paddling position.
A Gortex vent plug protects your board from delamination by allowing air to escape from the inner core of the board. For safety, a ten foot coil leash fastens around your ankle and is anchored to the tail. This protects you if you fall off your board.
